Today on my way home, I stopped at QT in Tempe...
because the tank registered almost empty. When I pulled up I noticed a beat up white car with a young couple sitting in it, not getting gas, just sitting there. I thought it was a little weird, and I went ahead and got gas. They sat there the entire time I pumped gas. At first I thought they were waiting for someone in the store, but no one came out. When I finished, one of them asked me if I could help them out by buying them some gas, that they actually coasted into the gas station. I told them I didn't have cash - okay, that was a lie, but I never feel good about giving people cash - food or something else, yes, but not cash. After looking at my wallet, I told them I could give them $5 and I would take it inside. They were thrilled and said anything would help. When I went inside, I actually gave them $10 worth of gas. Well, now they were really happy. It didn't come without a cost - I had to give them the "mom" speech about using their gas wisely. Kate and Kim - no worries - it was a one-line speech - nothing like you would get. They were glad to get the gas and so they obliged me and smiled.
What do I think of this? I am not sure, but it was only $10 and if it helped them get to where they need to be, then I'm okay with it. Now I feel like I should have done more.
Have a great weekend!

I've done the same thing at the Circle K by my house. I don't want to go through life thinking that everyone is a liar and a thief and I would hope that if this happened to y daughter someone would come through for her. Give yourself a big hug, Jean. You're a good person.
That was nice of you and I'm sure they appreciated it!
