A Page from Build-a-Book Event

at Paper Vineyard. This took place on Saturday; participants were able to choose the type of paper and embellishments to "build" their book. Kind of like Build-a-Bear, only with a book, of course. My station was painting on canvas and making flowers. On this page I actually painted a 9 x 9" piece of canvas material by first painting with gesso, then two different colors (yellow and green). I then stitched it on a 9 x 9" piece of kraft colored cardstock, then embellished from there. The flowers are different die cuts either sewn (yellow flower) or layered (orange flower) to give it a little bit of dimension. Buttons and brads were used for the center of the flower. The bird was painted a pale pink and then stamped with a saying. So cute!
