I am sitting in a dark hotel room...

sounds scary doesn't it?  Well, Kimmy is trying to sleep and I am sitting in our room, lights out, so she can.  We are in San Diego at the Mission Bay Lodge.  We arrived in time for our sunset cruise and found a hotel room.  The cruise was very relaxing and COLD on that water!  Some photos of yesterday...
Here we are on Interstate 8, not too far out of Phoenix, about 300 miles from San Diego.  Yep, I took it while I was driving.
I put the camera away for the rest of the driving time.  When we arrived at the marina, I just really enjoyed watching the pelicans.  They were all over the place.
It is hard to see, but the boat we went out on is straight out, in the middle of this photo.  It doesn't look very big, but it was pretty good size.
After the cruise, we found a pasta place called Devine Pastabilities whose claim to fame is their "Torpasta."
When Kimmy read the back of the menu about a fourth grader named Damien who used to eat spaghetti sandwiches - well, let's just say she felt right at home...
Because Kimberly LOVES spaghetti sandwiches.  She started making them when she was a kid probably about fourth grade.  It started with dipping her bread, then eventually it became full blown sandwiches.
We started our meal with garlic bread which is actually the inside of the garlic rolls.  Very light, not real heavy with butter and garlic.  Then dipped into a homemade marinara sauce.  Very nice.
This is mine - it is italian sausage, green peppers and onions with a ziti kind of pasta.  It is placed in this hollowed out garlic roll.  I tell you - it is so very good!
Kim opted for the tortellini in a marinara sauce.  She loved it and really enjoyed the restaurant.  She did admit, though, that she would not stop making spaghetti sandwiches.
After that, we decided to go back to the hotel and snuggle in.  Kim is still snuggled this morning as I write this blog.
More to come later.
