Looked who dropped in...

I was crafting with Cindy last night when I got a text from my older brother, Ed, who lives in California and evidently was passing through on business.
Ed:  Are you home?
Jean:  I am at a friend's house, do you need me?
Ed: I am stuck in the Phoenix airport.
Yes, he needed me!
Well, that made my heart leap.  I don't get to see Ed and his family as much as I would like, so I was thrilled that his trip back home was interrupted and he was actually stuck here, 10 minutes from my home!  After he confirmed they were not able to get him on a flight home last night, he asked if he could stay over and then take him back to the airport in the morning.  Absolutely!
I finally connected with him at 10:30 p.m. (there was a lot of construction and road closures around the airport) and of course we stayed up way too late catching up.  I am not even sure if we actually finished a conversation before moving on to the next one.  We had to get up early to get him to the airport to catch his flight home.
This first picture was probably taken about midnight.
We got up, had coffee and toast (I was not prepared for company) and headed off to the airport.  This picture was taken before 7:00 this morning - at the airport saying goodbye.
Great visit, Ed, just way too short!
I didn't even get a chance to call my girls and have them come by for a hug.

What a great surprise for you! I'm so looking forward to my sister's visit. It's great to be with friend's but when you have time to spend alone with a sibling, it's so much fun to reminisce.

I am a lot like this brother, so I definitely love spending time with him. Holly, I know you will enjoy your sister's visit. I have started doing my summer vacations with my sister who lives in Florida. Anyone is welcome, but we shared a room all of our lives, so I am probably closest to her. I enjoy just doing nothing with her.

It made my weekend and yet now, it seems so long ago. Too short!
